PMI has updated its exam process effective 25th September 2023. There are few important changes on how exam results will be declared after you take the exam. This is a part of all other security measures PMI takes to prevent candidates from cheating.

How do the updated security guidelines affect PMP exams?

When PMI revokes an individual’s test score, it will be recorded as a security violation. This counts as one of the three available PMP exam attempts within the allowed time frame. While candidates will continue to have a total of three attempts per year, those with a cancelled score will be required to undergo any future exams in person at an authorized testing center. PMP candidates will have to pay the exam fees again. Earlier when test was cancelled due to security violation concern, candidates could retake the exam free of cost, either in a test center or online. Not anymore.

What is the reason for prohibiting online re-examination?

To maintain the credibility of the exam, individuals with a security violation are not allowed to retake the PMP exam online. Instead, they must take it in person in a PearsonVue or other authorized test center to ensure strict security measures are in place. This prevents the use of proxy testing services and guarantees that candidates are completing the exam independently.

What is the eligibility criteria for one to take PMP exam?

• To be eligible to take the PMP exam, a candidate must have either:
  A secondary degree (high school diploma, associate’s degree, or the global equivalent) and at least five years of project management experience, with 7,500 hours leading and directing projects and 35 hours of project management education.
• A four-year degree (bachelor’s degree or the global equivalent) and at least three years of project management experience, with 4,500 hours leading and directing projects and 35 hours of project management education.

How to apply for PMP exam?

To apply for the PMP exam, a candidate must first create an account on the PMI website and submit an application. Allowing a proxy candidate to take the exam on behalf of another person would not accurately reflect the candidate’s abilities and would be a violation of the exam rules and regulations. How to make yourself safe when taking a proxy exam service?

There are many proxy exam service providers. Make sure you discuss these with the service providers before committing with them. 

1. The total time they will spend during the exam.

PMP is a long exam with a 10 minutes break after each 60 questions. So total 2 breaks – one after the 60th question and another after the 120th questions. PMP exam consists of total 180 questions. The fake service providers will usually try to complete the exam in 60 minutes or less, instead of spending the full exam time of 230 minutes of allowed duration. PMI will notice this and revoke your certificate after analyzing the exam pattern during the 5 days review period.

We conduct the exam upto the full time. A dedicated trainer will take your exam as if he is taking the exam in the real environment. We don’t finish the exam in 45 minutes or 60 minutes or 90 minutes. We will spend upto 95% of your allowed exam time.

How to renew PMP certification every 3 years?

What is the general PMP Exam Proxy Procedure?

Screen share/Proxy exam procedure:

1. You will need a personal Windows computer preferably Windows 11 (with admin rights to install a software). Apple Mac laptop/Chromebook or laptop given by work/office will not work.
2. We will install our custom made software on your laptop before the exam starts.
3. This is a custom software, it will not be visible in Taskbar or task manager.
4. Our software will share the screen during the exam. We will have to turn off the firewall/anti virus as needed by the exam proctor/board.
5. You will start the exam and finish the verification as if you are taking the exam alone.
6. Once the verification with the proctor is done, you will start the exam (Questions/Answers page).
7. Once you see the first questions on the screen, you just focus on the screen and do nothing (do not move your mouse or click answer).
8. We will solve the question, click the answer option and go to the next question. You will just pretend to look at the screen. You will not click the answers.
9. We will take 2 ten minutes breaks.
10. We will finish solving all the questions and submit the exam. We do not rush the exam (it will done as if you are taking the exam yourself).
11. You will see the information about when you will get the result. We will close the exam window.
